A hallway that works: one bench, one basket, one mirror
The first metre of a home sets the tone for the rest. Three pieces are all it needs.
The Nook team

A narrow hallway asks for very little: somewhere to sit while you tie your shoes, somewhere to drop what you carry, and a mirror for the last look before you leave.
Keep the bench low and shallow, no deeper than 35 cm, so it never blocks the door. A basket under it takes the shoes; a hook rail above takes the coats.
Hang the mirror at eye height opposite the light, and the hallway reads twice as wide.
